SAILING SOUND OFFERS ONE FREE RECORDING SESSION OF UP TO 4 HOURS AS WELL AS ONE FREE CONSULTATION IN YOUR REHEARSAL STUDIO
(THE ARTIST MU
ST
PAY FOR THEIR REHEARSAL ROOM), WITH PRODUCER ANDREW NEELANDS.
Sailing Sound is a great studio for pre-production and can cater for all manner of projects at a reasonable cost. Note that if tracks have been previously recorded in Pro Tools or Cuebase, please make sure that all audio tracks have been bounced down individually in order to correspond with the LogicPro system used by Sailing Sound. Please try and keep audio files in 24 bit and in AIFF or WAV format and it’s always sensible to back up your recording on DVD or USB stick prior to any editing, over-dubbing or remixing.
Although he feels that is important for the producer to take an involved role in shaping a song, Andrew Neelands stipulates the importance of not changing the band’s sound but rather helping to add to it and play on its strengths by polishing it and, above all, providing an all-important a
dv
isory role in the studio. The Sailing Sound studio aims to act as a ‘playground for the musician’, allowing the artist to develop and enhance their material into an exciting piece of work. It helps to begin first with a (free) consultation with Andrew in order to discuss the most suitable routes and the nature of the project in hand.
Sailing Sound offers a comprehensive inventory of
professional technical equipment in its studio with which artists can record their work. Sailing Sound has a state-of-the-art Yamaha electronic drum kit, which is ideal for bands during the pre-production stages. Depending on the style of the band, we will normally use another
studio to record full drum kits, with professional engineers.
